Lozenets can be split into two parts – Lower and Upper Lozenets. This can be slightly confusing as Lower Lozenets is to the north. Iztok District is located just to the east of Sofia city centre. Iztok is Bulgarian for East and, originally, Iztok was the most eastern part of Sofia. Now the capital has far extended to the east and includes districts such as Mladost and Druzhba.
