Boyana
Boyana is located at the foothills of the Vitosha Mountains on the outskirts of Sofia where you can find some of the top attractions in Sofia such as Boyana Church and the National History Museum.
The area was used by the Communist era residence for heads of government and today the Bulgarian government still uses it to host important international visitors and VIP guests.
Boyana is located quite a distance from the centre of the city and you will need a car to get around.
Centre
The centre of historic buildings, museums, narrow streets and sidewalks, coffee shops, pedestrian walks, offices, bars and restaurants.
The downside to this central location though is that the centre is quite overcrowded and noisy although the area near South Park has some new buildings is much quieter.

Dragalevtsi is located between Simeonovo and Boyana quarters and is considered one of the gates to Mount Vitosha, offering good views of the mountains, as well as mountain hiking trails.

Iztok
Iztok District is located just to the east of Sofia city centre. Iztok is Bulgarian for East and, originally, Iztok was the most eastern part of Sofia. There are many nice restaurants and fine cafes here in Lozenets which is in 30 minutes walking distance to the centre and has a metro station.
Oborishte
Located within walking distance from downtown Sofia, Oborishte is a small neighbourhood is connected to the centre. It is often considered one of the quietest and safest areas in Sofia, which makes it very popular as a place to stay.
Some of the most famous landmarks in this location are the monument of Vasil Levski, Doctor’s Garden, Zaimov Park, and the National Museum of Military History.
Oborishte is a good place to stay if you are looking for a safe and quiet place close to the central part of the city but parking is again limited.
Vitosha District (also known as Paradise)
Vitosha District is located towards the south of Sofia, between Lozenets District and Sofia Ring Road.
At the moment there is a lot of property construction in this area due to the Metro station and excellent shopping mall and is becoming one of the best places to invest in real estate in Sofia.
The area is also close to several parks, the zoo and has easy access to Vitosha mountain.
